<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting apparatus which is easily placed without being bothered by pulling a cord around, while avoiding unnecessary energy consumption and heat generation caused by forgetting to turn off the lighting apparatus for long hours, offering convenience safely in peace of mind for a short time before going to sleep by illuminating a bedside in a simple way. <P>SOLUTION: A bedside lighting apparatus, using batteries as its power source, includes an LED illuminant and a built-in driving current controller which enables the bedside lighting apparatus to light up when a one-touch button on the lighting apparatus is pressed, and stay on for a predetermined period of time, and then light out automatically. When lighting up of the bedside lighting apparatus is desired for a longer time than the predetermined period of time, pressing the one-touch button again after lighting out simply realizes a substantially extended time period of lighting up.
