<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that allows correction of the size of an output image along a main scanning direction and a subscanning direction while suppressing formation of vertical stripes or banding in the output image, even when exposure means that includes a light source array is used. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: image processing control means for performing image processing; exposure means having one-dimensionally or two-dimensionally arranged light sources; developing means for visualizing with toner an electrostatic latent image formed on an image carrier by the exposure means; transfer means for transferring the visualized image from the image carrier to a recording medium S; and fixing means for fixing the transferred image on the recording medium S. In performing image processing, the image processing control means divides an image into matrices, each matrix containing a plurality of pixels. When a main scanning direction is defined as a lengthwise direction along which the light sources are arranged, and a subscanning direction is defined as a direction of rotation of a photoreceptor, the image processing control means controls in such a manner that an arbitrary correction matrix has a different number of pixels along the main scanning direction from those of other matrices, thereby varying the size of an output image along the main scanning direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
