<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic equipment capable of making an emergency call quickly. <P>SOLUTION: A portable telephone 1 comprises: a detection section 12 for detecting a contact of an object, a memory section 16 for storing one or more applications, a communication section 15 for making a call to a prescribed contact address, and a control section 17. The control section 17 executes an application, and while the application is running, the control section 17 determines whether a contact pattern is identical to a prescribed pattern in response to the detection of a contact by the detection section 12.
