PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling combustion in hot stove equipment are provided to optimize the dome temperature of a hot stove and stores heat by automatically controlling air-fuel ratio according to the calorie of combustion gas and oxygen content of exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling combustion in hot stove equipment comprises a gas calorie detecting unit(1) which detects the calories of BFG gas and COG gas, an oxygen content detecting unit(2) which detects the oxygen content of exhaust gas, a dome temperature detecting unit(3) which detects the dome temperature of a hot stove, an exhaust gas temperature detecting unit(4) which detects the temperature of the exhaust gas, and a hot stove control unit(5) which calculates a mixed gas ratio according to the calories of BFG gas and COG gas and controls the flow rates of mixed gas and air according to the mixed gas ratio, the dome temperature, and the exhaust gas temperature.
