摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high carbon steel wire rod for drawing, with which a steel wire having higher strength and higher ductility than those of the conventional steel wire is produced, and a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: In a high carbon steel wire rod 10 which contains 0.65-1.00 mass% of carbon, when the diameter of the high carbon steel wire rod 10 is represented by D, a section ranging from the surface to 0.05D in depth of the high carbon steel wire rod 10 is named as a surface layer section 1, and a section deeper than 0.20D from the surface is named as an internal section 2, 90% or more of the structure of the surface layer section 1 is a rough lamella pearlite structure with a lamella interval of 0.10 &mu;m or more, and 95% or more of the structure of the internal section 2 is a fine pearlite structure or a pseudo pearlite structure with a lamella interval of less than 0.10 &mu;m. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
