Disclosed is a computer system capable of rapidly dealing with variation in the state of a pool comprising a pool volume in a computer system for dynamically assigning storage capacity from the pool volume to an object of access of a host system. The disclosed computer system comprises a control device which sets an object of access for a host computer to access, and when a write occurs from the host computer to the object of access, for each write, performs processing for assigning the storage capacity from a logical volume in the pool to a write area of the object of access from the pool that has been assigned to the object of access; wherein the control device defines the logical volume beforehand, summarizes thereof as an auxiliary volume for the pool into a management group, and on the basis of variation in the state of the pool, adds the logical volume from the management group to the pool.
