648,704. Vulcanizing presses for tyres. BATA, NARODNI PODNIK. Nov. 24, 1947, No. 31054. Convention date, Dec. 14, 1946. [Class 87 (ii)] In a vulcanizing press for simultaneously vulcanizing two rubber tyres, which has hinged upper and intermediate platens 13, 14 and a crank mechanism 8 to move them, the crank mechanism comprises pull-bars 10 actuating the intermediate platen 14 through cam members 16 coacting with rollers 18, so that the movement of the intermediate platen during part of its upward and its downward movement is accelerated with respect to the movement of the upper platen. The upper platen 13 alone is moved upwardly by pull-bars 10, operated by electric motor 1 through shaft 7, until the cams 16 contact rollers 18 and the intermediate platen 14 is then moved upwardly. When fully open, both platens have the same angular opening. Then the vulcanized tyre is removed from the lower platen and replaced by one to be vulcanized, the intermediate platen closed down, the upper vulcanized tyre removed and replaced and the upper platen closed down. |
