A method for message prompting in the field of computer technologies is disclosed by the embodiments of the present invention, which includes the following steps: acquiring the characteristic of the user's operation on the software as well as whether the operation on the software is successful or not; determining the characteristic group of said characteristic and corresponding weight; said characteristic group contains characteristics of the same category and has one weight; said weight represents the relevance among the characteristics within that group; determining the message prompted to said user according to said weight and a pre-defined threshold in combination with whether said operation on the software is successful or not. A corresponding message prompting device is also disclosed by the embodiments of this invention. The embodiments of this invention prompt software characteristics with better pertinency to the user according to the user behavior characteristics, provide personalized way of characteristics notification, avoid disturbing the user, improve the user experience, enhance friendliness, and are able to provide effective guidance to the user. |
