<p>The present invention relates to an apparatus for drying and crushing organic waste such as sewer sludge, various forms of wet sludge waste, and food waste found in drainpipes and at wastewater treatment plants. The apparatus of the present invention comprises: a drying drum rotatably installed on a base; a supply pipe and drain pipe installed on sealing caps for sealing the front and rear ends of the drying drum; a first and second crushing rotator driven by a rotating shaft installed longitudinally within the front end of the drying drum; an auxiliary crushing rotator driven by an auxiliary rotating shaft installed longitudinally within the rear end of the drying drum; a first opening and a first sealing member for discharging the fine dried powder generated during the drying process; a second opening and a second sealing member for discharging the organic waste that has completed drying; and a drying burner for discharging hot air into the drying drum. According to the present invention, because organic waste can be uniformly and completely dried, the dried organic waste can be recycled for various applications (i.e., as auxiliary fuel for thermal power plants). Also, not only can the moisture content in dried organic waste be minimized, the volume of organic waste can be minimized as well, thereby resolving the problem of dealing with leachate and significantly reducing costs for incineration.</p> |
