The disclosed information system includes display devices, terminals, and a server device, and is characterized in that: each of the terminals is associated with a terminal ID for specifying said terminal; the server device manages pieces of terminal status information associated with the respective terminal IDs; each terminal transmits display data to the display device(s) and makes a notification that the transmission of the display data has been completed; and the server device receives, from said terminal, the notification that the transmission has been completed and updates the terminal status information associated with the terminal ID received from said terminal. Thus, it is possible to provide a system that writes into electronic paper by utilizing the power source of a mobile terminal and with which the human costs of advertising companies can be reduced.
