PURPOSE: An input device and a control method thereof are provided to selectively eliminate only an EMI noise with which an infrared pattern light is mixed, thereby detecting the accurate coordinate information of an input device. CONSTITUTION: A communication unit(240) communicates with a display device. A sensing unit(210) senses a scan signal, a first signal, and a second signal. The scan signal is generated from a display device. The first signal is generated from the display device. The first signal includes a noise. The second signal includes a noise. A noise eliminating unit(220) eliminates a noise by comparing the first signal with the second signal. The noise eliminating unit outputs a scan signal which is generated from the display device. A controller(230) controls a communication unit to transmit location related information of an input device to a display device.
