The invention discloses a method and device for selecting a data transmission mode in a multi-antenna technique, which belongs to the wireless communication field. The said method includes that: during a judgment period of the data transmission mode, a transmission end takes statistics to the channel state information of a current reception end (S602); according to the statistical channel state information, the transmission end selects a data transmission mode adapted to the current reception end in predetermined multi-antenna data transmission modes (S604). By transmitting data to the current reception end using the selected data transmission mode, the stability of the link and the throughput of the system can be improved.
