The device (1) has a roof cover lifting element designed as folding element (2), for lifting vehicle body and trailer from an inoperative position lying under the cover to a lifting operating position (3). The folding element comprises ends (2.1) respectively supported to fixed parts (4) of a vehicle and to a tension element (6). The tension element allows the folding element to be transferred in the lifting operating position. The ends of the folding element are secured at the fixed part of the vehicle body or the trailer of the vehicle.
