PURPOSE: An apparatus for treating sewage and wastewater is provided to improve the using efficiency of energy and to minimize the area and the volume of the apparatus for treating sewage and wastewater. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for treating sewage and wastewater includes a cylindrical rotor(20), a suspended material collecting container, a sewage and wastewater inlet(40), a suspended material outlet(50), and a remaining liquid collecting container(60). The cylindrical rotor is surrounded by a filtering material. The suspended material collecting container is installed in the cylindrical rotor and collects filtered suspended materials from the sewage and the wastewater. The sewage and wastewater inlet and the suspended material outlet are installed at one side of the cylindrical rotor. The sewage and wastewater inlet supplies sewage and wastewater into the cylindrical rotor, and the suspended material outlet discharges suspended materials. The remaining liquid collecting container collects remaining liquid from the cylindrical rotor.
