Topical pain relief compositions of N,2,3-trimethyl-2-isopropylbutamide (Winsense-23 / WS-23) and methods for using the same

Disclosed is a topical pain relief composition which comprises about 15-20% w/w N,2,3-trimethyl-2-isopropylbutamide (also known as Winsense-23 / WS-23) as the only active agent present in said composition, wherein said composition is formulated for application to a keratinized skin site and wherein said composition is not a topical patch preparation or an adhesive gel composition. Further disclosed is use of a topical pain relief composition comprising N,2,3-trimethyl-2-isopropylbutanamide in the preparation of a medicament for treating pain wherein said composition is not a topical patch preparation or an adhesive gel composition.
