<p>Disclosed is an evaporative cooling system (10) that can be used to cool fluid and to cool an air supply (B) to a building. The system comprises a plurality of evaporative systems (50, 60). Each of the plurality of evaporative systems has a fluid pump (56, 64), cooling tower (54, 62) and a heat exchange element (58, 66). In the embodiment shown in the figure, the system (10) comprises a primary evaporative system (50) which has a fluid pump (56), a primary cooling tower (54) and a heat exchange element (58). The air supply (B) to the primary cooling tower (54) is cooled by the heat exchange element (66) of the secondary evaporative cooling system (60). As a result, the inlet air wet bulb temperature of the primary cooling tower (54) will be reduced and the cooling capacity of the primary cooling tower (54) is increased.</p> |
