A prosthesis 3 suitable for delivering to the branch region of the ascending aorta 11 and the right and left coronary arteries 12, 13, comprises a main conduit 33 and first and second branch conduits 31, 32. The branch conduits 31, 32 are for locating in the right and left coronary arteries 12, 13 respectively upon moving from a first position in which they are located in the main conduit 33 to a second position in which they project out from the main conduit 33. The branch conduits 31, 32 turn inside out as they move from the first position to the second position. The prosthesis is delivered to the branching site on a pair of guide wires that are inserted percutaneously through the descending aorta and into the left and right coronary arteries respectively. The prosthesis may be held in place by expanding stents and the main body may be constructed from an expanding shape memory alloy that is held compactly within a delivery casing 4 whilst being delivered to the site then pushed out of the casing by push rods 53, 51, 52. Once the prosthesis is in place the delivery casing, push rods, and the guide wires are withdrawn from the site. |
