PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer enabling high-speed printing by performing thermal history control in which current carrying correction is additionally performed with respect to a thermal head.SOLUTION: With respect to each heating element 41A adjacent to a first heating element 41C to which main pulse for main heating is applied to melt or sublimate ink on an ink ribbon in a next application period (Q+(N+1)) out of respective heating elements 41A constituting a line head of the thermal head, when the next application period (Q+(N+1)) wherein the ink on the ink ribbon is not molten or sublimated follows also immediately after a current application period (Q(N)) wherein the ink on the ink ribbon is not molten or sublimated, sub pulse (S) for compensating the main pulse to be applied within the next application period (Q+(N+1)) is applied within the current application period (Q(N)). |
