A method and an apparatus for channel estimation are provided in the present invention. The method includes: determining the specified time slots which are occupied by the specified users and are used for data transmission (S101); executing channel estimation on each pilot subcarrier included in the determined specified time slots, and obtaining the respective estimated values corresponding to the respective pilot subcarriers (S102); and obtaining the channel estimation values of other subcarriers over the whole frequency band except for the pilot subcarriers via an interpolation algorithm, by using the obtained respective estimation values (S103). By applying the method and apparatus provided in this invention, the utilization ratio of the bandwidth resource is improved, thus improving the efficiency of data transmission.
