PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new metalloprotease production inhibitor.SOLUTION: The metalloprotease production inhibitor contains at least one compound selected from the group consisting of agar, agarose, and agaro-oligosaccharide. There are also provided a pharmaceutical composition containing the inhibitor and an antiaging composition for skin and/or bone containing the inhibitor. The metalloprotease production inhibitor is particularly useful in the biochemistry field because it shows an excellent metalloprotease production inhibitory action and does not show a side effect. |
