PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminated positive temperature coefficient thermistor for improving a withstand voltage, while keeping a low resistance value and resistance temperature characteristics equivalent to the conventional one, and also to provide method of manufacturing a laminated positive temperature coefficient thermistor.SOLUTION: The laminated positive temperature coefficient thermistor described in a claim item 1 has: a ceramic base body made of a semiconductor ceramic material with a positive resistance temperature coefficient wherein a plurality of ceramic layers having a plurality of air gaps are laminated; first and second external electrodes formed at mutually different positions on the outer front surface of the ceramic base body; and first and second internal electrodes which are formed inside the ceramic base body so as to be electrically connected to the first and second external electrodes and also formed in a mutually superimposed state by holding the ceramic layers between them. The voidage of the ceramic base body is ≥6% and ≤35%. A metal material which does not have ohmic contact with the semiconductor ceramic material exists in each air gap, and the substance ratio of the metal material to the air gap is ≥0.2 vol% and ≤40 vol%. |
