PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibrator and a manufacturing method thereof, wherein a vibrating body including a protrusion is integrally formed of one member at a low cost and with high reliability.SOLUTION: The vibration wave driving apparatus is equipped with: a vibrator containing at least a vibrating body on which a protrusion having a spring characteristic is formed; and an electromechanical energy conversion element, the vibrator moving elliptically so as to drive an object in contact with the protrusion, wherein the protrusion is integrally formed with the vibrating body by one member in a partial area of the vibrating body in longitudinal and width directions via a plurality of slits or cutouts. |
