PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle position detection system that efficiently detects an own-vehicle position while using a scenic image recognition technology.SOLUTION: The own-vehicle position detection system is equipped with: a reference data database 92 storing reference data group obtained by associating image feature point data generated by extracting image feature points from a captured image obtained by capturing a scene viewed from a vehicle with an image-capturing position of the corresponding captured image and a vehicle event; a reference data output unit outputting reference data to be a matching partner candidate for matching data comprising image feature points extracted from an actually captured image on the basis of an error range calculated from an estimated own-vehicle position of the vehicle and the actual vehicle event; and an own-vehicle position determination unit determining the own-vehicle position on the basis of the image-capturing position associated with the reference data subjected to matching. |
