PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device and an image display method capable of reducing three-dimensional crosstalk of stereoscopic view images while suppressing deterioration of image quality.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, the image display device has an input means, a brightness processing means, a display panel, a light source, and a control means. The input means inputs a first image signal and a second image signal. The brightness processing means adjusts the brightness of at least one of the first image signal and the second image signal and outputs a third image signal corresponding to the first image signal and outputs a fourth image signal corresponding to the second image signal so that a difference in the brightness between the signals becomes small. The display panel continuously displays the third image signal and the fourth image signal output from the brightness processing means. The light source illuminates the display panel. The control means controls the light source so as to increase a difference in the brightness of irradiating the display panel between the case in which the third image signal is displayed on the display panel and the case in which the fourth image sinal is displayed on the display panel. |
