PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanning device and an image display device for lengthening a period capable of driving a mirror part at a constant angular velocity when generating a drive signal suppressing a resonance component with a low-pass filter.SOLUTION: The optical scanning device has an optical scanning element 4 having a resonance mode swung in a direction perpendicular to the reflection face of the mirror part 10 and a control part 2 for swinging the mirror part 10 around a swinging axis on the basis of a drive voltage signal Sc2 suppressing a resonance frequency component of the resonance mode with the low-pass filter. The control part 2 obtains a detection signal Sd corresponding to the angle of the mirror part 10 from a detection part 18, performs difference computation of the detection signal Sd and the drive voltage signal Sc2, and determines a resonance frequency and amplitude of the resonance mode on the basis of a difference signal which is the difference result. The control part 2 sets at least one parameter out of a low-pass filter system, a cut-off frequency, and a degree on the basis of the resonance frequency and the amplitude of the resonance mode. |
