The invention relates to a spark plug (100) for an internal combustion engine, having a prechamber (110) for receiving an ignitable medium, and having a receiving region (120) for means for coupling laser radiation (135) into the prechamber (110). According to the invention, a part of the prechamber (110) which defines a rear-chamber volumetric region (110a) surrounds the receiving region (120) at least partially in a combustion-chamber-side end region (100a) of the spark plug (100).
