The invention relates to metallurgy. The overhead tuyere for slag blowing in converter contains Laval nozzles, at that Laval nozzles at the outer end of the overhead tuyere head are located around a circle nonuniformly, but displaced from this circle outwards and are grouped on the left and right, thereby forming on the outer end of the overhead tuyere head left and right Laval nozzle sectors, at that the size of angles between the center of the overhead tuyere head and centers of the output sections of each pair of the adjacent Laval nozzles within each sector are equal to each other and are as follows (in °) α= (0.25÷ 0.99)(360/n), a size of angles between the sectors - between the center of the overhead tuyere head and centers of the outlet section of the outside nearest Laval nozzles of the both sectors - respectively are as follows (in °) α= (360-α(n-2)) / 2, where n – is total amount (always even) of the Laval nozzles in the overhead tuyere head. Furthermore, a method of reducing the converter lining with the use of the overhead tuyere for slag blowing is claimed. The invention allows the most efficient application of the slag coating on the most worn areas of the converter. |
