PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a flow rate detector and a circulation method for fully immersing laundry in water are required, and a favorable water absorption of the laundry is determined even when the opening degree of a water faucet is small during water supply.SOLUTION: The washing machine includes: a water supplier 102; a water level detector 108; and an elaborate operation necessity determiner 110 for determining the necessity of the elaborate operation based on the water absorption of clothes from a stored content in a water level temporal development storage unit 109. The elaborate operation necessity determiner 110 detects an gradient knee point of water level change when both gradients of water level change have the same sign before and after knee points, and determines the necessity of the elaborate operation based on the ratio of the gradient after the knee point to the gradient before the knee point. Thus, the level of the necessity of the elaborate operation is determined with a simple structure in consideration of the flow rate of water during water supply, and thereby washing and drying operations suitable for the cloth quality and the amount of the laundry can be performed. |
