PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a size of a mechanical oil pump as an oil pressure source.SOLUTION: In a control device for an automatic transmission, the automatic transmission forms a reverse shift stage by turning on a brake B2 and a clutch C3 when a shift position SP is in an R (Reverse) position. In this case, when the shift position SP is in a D (Drive) position other than when the shift position SP is in an N (Neutral) position (S110), if the brake B2 is permitted to be engaged on standby as in the case where the speed of the vehicle (V) is below a threshold Vref (S190), the brake (B2) is engaged on standby (S120). Even when the shift lever is quickly manipulated from the D position to the R position, oil pressure should be applied only to the remaining clutch C3, the reverse shift stage is quickly formed. As a result, the size of the mechanical oil pump serving as the oil pressure source can be reduced. |
