PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve heat power conversion efficiency by suppressing occurrence of a loss for compressing a non-condensable gas mixed in vapor.SOLUTION: This heat engine includes: a tubular vessel 11 in which a liquid piston 15 made of a working medium in a liquid phase state is sealed to flow therein; an exterior evaporator 20 located outside of the vessel 11 to generate the vapor of the working medium; a suction means 131 arranged at one end portion of the vessel 11 to draw the vapor generated in the exterior evaporator 20 into the vessel 11; an output portion 14 arranged at the other end portion of the vessel 11 to convert the displacement of the liquid piston 15 caused by expansion of the vapor drawn into the vessel 11 to a mechanical energy and output the mechanical energy; liquid piston discharge units 18, 31 for discharging a part of the liquid piston 15 from the vessel 11 in order to suppress an increase in the amount of the liquid piston in association with the expansion of the vapor; and a discharge unit 132 discharging the vapor without being condensed in the vessel 11 from the vessel 11. |
