PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a natural product-derived, highly safe and highly effective collagen production promoter that promotes biosynthesis of collagen, one of important constituents of dermis, thereby to prevent ageing of the skin.SOLUTION: The collagen production promoter comprises at least one essence extracted from a plant selected between Melilotus officinalis extract and Euphoria longana flesh extract. There are also provided a skin care preparation for external use, an ageing ameliorating agent, a food and a cosmetic each comprising the collagen production promoter.
