PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection device for allowing a truck to stably run on the curved surface of piping, or the like, while being a simple structure that enables inspection, and to provide an inspection method which uses the device.SOLUTION: The inspection device is equipped with the truck which is equipped with a probe and a rail 4 for allowing the truck to run on an object to be inspected and allows the truck to run to inspect the object to be inspected. The object to be inspected has a curved surface 100a that is at least partially curved. The truck is equipped with its truck body, having a motor and a pair of the driving wheels 22 and 22 driven by the motor and a probe support part for supporting the probe. The rail 4 is equipped with a plurality of rail blocks 40, each of which is constituted by connecting a pair of short rails 41 and 41 by an intermediate connection part 43, and the rail blocks 40 are connected in a bendable manner. At the running of the truck, at least one of a pair of the driving wheels 22 and 22 comes into contact with the curved surface 100a via the piercing grooves of a pair of the short rails 41 and 41. |
