The method involves operating an operating element (34) at a remote controller (12) for a vehicle i.e. motor car (10), for wirelessly sending a signal from a transmitter (20) of the remote controller to the vehicle, where the signal is coded with a code. The coded signal is received by a receiver (22) of the vehicle, and is decoded. Another signal coded with another code is sent from a transmitter (38) of the vehicle to a receiver (32) of an access device (26) i.e. garage door, and is decoded. The access device is opened or closed based on the latter decoded signal. An independent claim is also included for a motor car comprising a receiver.
