PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit occurrence of rapid expansion of hydrogen inside a sealing member after operation stop, thereby capable of avoiding breaking of the sealing member as much as possible.SOLUTION: A method for setting a depressurization rate comprises: a step of placing a first sealing member 62d used for sealing high-pressure hydrogen under a preset hydrogen pressure employed during the operation of a water electrolyzer 10, thereby taking up the hydrogen into the first sealing member 62d; a step of placing the first sealing member 62d taking up the hydrogen under an atmospheric pressure and setting a diffusion time for the hydrogen taken into the first sealing member 62d to diffuse out of the first sealing member 62d; and a step of setting a depressurization time equal to or longer than the diffusion time and calculating the rate of depressurization from the preset hydrogen pressure to the atmospheric pressure based on the depressurization time. |
