The present invention relates to a method of purification which comprises immersing a cooled object in a molten substance to crystallize the substance on a surface of the cooled object to obtain a crystal of the substance and grow the crystal. The cooled object is immersed in the molten substance while rotating the cooled object at a peripheral speed of 700 mm/s or higher but lower than 8,000 mm/s, and a temperature of the cooled object at the time of immersing in the molten substance is set to [(solidus temperature of the substance) x 0.7] or higher.
