PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cleaning soil, which can effectively function as a means of decontaminating an underground unsaturated layer.SOLUTION: The method for cleaning soil for making contaminants 5 in soil having penetrated an underground unsaturated layer 2 from the ground surface 1 harmless, comprises: setting up a planar area spread in the horizontal direction over the ground surface 1 in a manner of including the starting point present thereon of a route through which the contaminants 5 in soil have penetrated the ground; subsequently forming a recessed area 8 on the ground surface 1 as the planar area by shallowly digging the ground; subsequently constructing a gravel layer 15 in the recessed area 8 as a layer of storing a cleaning agent; subsequently distributing/spreading a cleaning agent A in a planar form in the gravel layer 15 via a distribution pipe 13 disposed therein; and subsequently allowing the cleaning agent A stored in the gravel layer 15 to penetrate the ground by virtue of the gravity via the route through which the contaminants 5 in soil have penetrated the ground, to make the contaminants 5 in soil harmless. |
