PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, removing recording paper remaining on a paper conveyance path between adjacent pairs of carrying rolls by a simple configuration.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an image former 1 for forming an image on the recording paper P; a paper feeder 17 for feeding the recording paper P to the image former 1; an opening and closing door 100C for maintenance that is provided to be opened and closed by an operator; a paper conveyance path RT having a maintenance feasible conveyance path RTm which can be maintained by the operator when the opening and closing door 100C is opened and a maintenance infeasible conveyance path RTj that does not allow the operator to maintain, and configured to convey the recording paper P from the paper feeder 17 through the image former 1 to a discharge port 24; and a residual paper detector Sj that detects residual paper Pj remaining on the maintenance infeasible conveyance path RTj. After opening and closing an opening and closing lid 100C, when the residual paper detector Sj has detected the residual paper Pj, new recording paper Pis supplied to the paper conveyance path RT. |
