Disclosed is a paste composition for forming a backside electrode of a solar cell (10), which contains, as solid contents, an aluminum powder, a glass powder and a composite powder that is composed of a granular composite material containing titanium oxide and an organic or inorganic compound that contains silicon. The composite powder is contained in an amount of 0.45-1% by mass (inclusive) when the total of the composite powder, the aluminum powder and the glass powder is taken as 100% by mass.
