PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a levitation type base isolation device capable of surely levitating an upper structure horizontally without damaging a sealing member demarcating and sealing an intermediate part between contact surfaces of an upper surface of a foundation and a lower surface of the upper structure.SOLUTION: The upper structure 2 having a flat lower surface 2A is placed on the foundation 3 having a flat upper surface 3A so that the upper surface 3A of the foundation 3 and the lower surface 2A of the upper structure 2 are in surface contact with each other, a space between the contact surfaces in the outer periphery of the upper surface 3A of the foundation 3 and the lower surface 2A of the upper structure 2 in surface contact is sealed by an outer periphery sealing member 4B, the upper structure 2 is levitated at an earthquake by introducing a pressure gas into a space between the upper surface 3A of the foundation 3 and the lower surface 2A of the upper structure, and an intermediate sealing member 4A demarcating and sealing the intermediate part between the contact surfaces of the upper surface 3A of the foundation 3 and the lower surface 2A of the upper structure 2 in surface contact is attached from the outer peripheral side of the upper structure 2. |
