PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical mill which prevent vibration at the start of the operation and during the operation at a low level of coal fed by reducing joint gaps between table segments and by reducing vibration when a roller moves over the gaps and a joint reduction method for a table segment.SOLUTION: The vertical mill including a crushing table 5 housed in the lower part of a housing, a plurality of table segments 8 installed in the shape of a ring on the crushing table, and a pressure roller installed rotatably to the table segments, crushes a massive object with the pressure roller by relative rotation of the pressure roller with the crushing table, and possesses a displacement direction conversion part 28 displacing the table segment in a diameter reduction direction by friction reaction force 31 generated between the pressure roller and the table segment. |
