SPRAY MEASURING METHOD AND SPRAY MEASURING INSTRUMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spray measuring method and a spray measuring instrument for accurately measuring the spraying direction of a fluid sprayed from a sprayer.SOLUTION: A spray cross-sectional picture image 40 formed on planar light 20 in spraying a fuel from a nozzle hole 32 in real space is acquired by a controller 10. A gravity center calculation domain D corresponding to a spray cross-sectional image 40a extracted on the picture image 40 is variably set while the gravity center position Pg of the calculation domain D is calculated with the luminance of each picture element used as weight in the calculation domain D which is variably set. When the center position Pg of the calculation domain D coincides with the center position thereof within the set limits of errors, a direction from a nozzle 31 to the center position Pg is determined as a spraying direction. This allows the spraying direction of the fluid sprayed from an injector 30 to be accurately measured.
