PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonvolatile storage system of a plate type, reducing power consumption.SOLUTION: The nonvolatile storage device is equipped with: a plurality of memory mats each having a plurality of memory cells; a plurality of plate electrodes each prepared for every memory mat to apply voltage to the memory cells; a power source for applying voltages to the plurality of plate electrodes; a switch circuit having a plurality of switches respectively prepared between the power source and the plate electrode and between the plate electrodes; and a control section configured to control the switch circuit to disconnect the plate electrodes from the power source and to connect the plate electrodes to each other to carry out electrical charging and discharging operations among the plate electrodes.
