PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absence detection apparatus and an absence detection method that can increase the accuracy of absence determination.SOLUTION: The absence detection apparatus 10 includes a sound detection part 11 for detecting ambient sounds, an arithmetic part 12 for computing detection histogram data indicating occurrence frequencies of sound pressure levels from sound pressure levels of the sounds detected by the sound detection part 11 at unit time intervals, a storage part 13 storing absence histogram data indicating occurrence frequencies of sound pressure levels in an absent environment, and a determination part 14 for comparing the detection histogram data computed by the arithmetic part 12 with the absence histogram data stored in the storage part 13 for the purpose of absence determination. |
