PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus that has a plurality of processors for processing a read image and uses them effectively to improve the operation of reading one face.SOLUTION: An image reader 2 of an MFP 100 includes an image sensor 15 for reading one face of a document and an image sensor 25 for reading the opposite face, and further includes a front processor 351 and a rear processor 352 for each image sensor. While the process pertaining to one face reading of a preceding document is carried out by one processor, if reading one face of a succeeding document is carried out, the processor is switched so that the process pertaining to one face reading of the succeeding document is carried out by the other processor. |
