FEEDBACK METHOD AND SYSTEM OF CORRELATION MATRIX FOR ANTENNA ARRAY

A feedback method and system of correlation matrix for antenna array are proposed. The method comprises the steps of: at a receiving end, according to a predetermined criteria, selecting a code-word from a predetermined correlation matrix code-book including a plurality of code-words, for representing the correlation matrix to be fed back (300); and, feeding back an index of the selected code-word in the determined correlation matrix code-book to a transmission end(302); wherein, each code-word is a code-word matrix that approximates to the correlation matrix of the antenna array at the transmission end. Based on the present invention, the characteristics of closely spaced ULA antenna and spatial correlation thereof can be taken full advantage of, corresponding quantization and feedback code-book can be designed, and the feedback overhead and computational complexity can be reduced, thus improving the system performance of space-related auxiliary systems such as MIMO system.
