PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a (meth)acrylic resin capable of obtaining a cured coated film hard to shrink when cured and excellent in abrasion resistance, and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: The (meth)acrylic resin comprises: a 1,5-bis(oxymethyl)-9-oxy-3-oxabicyclo[3.3.1]-nonane structural unit; and a (meth)acryloyl group. The method for producing the (meth)acrylic resin includes: a step of reacting cyclohexanone with formaldehyde under presence of a basic catalyst to obtain a reaction mixture; and a step of mixing the reaction mixture with (meth)acrylic acid to carry out a condensation reaction of the reaction mixture with (meth)acrylic acid.
