Provided are a wireless communication apparatus and a wireless communication method that can reduce the distortions of CSI-RSes and the interferences thereof with other CSI-RSes. The wireless communication apparatus comprises: a CSI-RS generating unit for generating CSI-RSes; a placing unit for placing the CSI-RSes in one or more consecutive OFDM symbols that are located between and adjacent to a plurality of OFDM symbols in which signals other than the CSI-RSes are placed; and a transmitting unit for transmitting the signals other than the CSI-RSes placed by the placing unit and for transmitting the transport signals including the CSI-RSes.
