PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically regenerate an environmental sound in a route along with travel of an automobile. SOLUTION: This navigation system is provided with a map data storage part 21 for storing a map image data correlated with map coordinates, an environmental sound data storage part 22 for storing the environmental sound having an intensity distribution correlated with the map coordinates, a map image regeneration part 25 for reading the map image data from the map data storage part 21, and for regenerating a map image on a screen of a display 28 as a birds-eye view from the vicinity of own current position while directing an advancing direction or direction of the system frontwards, and an environmental sound regenerating part 26 for reading out an environmental sound data from the environmental sound data storage part 22 corresponding to the own current position to be regenerated in at least one speaker 29, 30 as the environmental sound, and the environmental sound regenerating part 26 executes the regeneration in the speaker, as the environmental sound proportional to a level of the environmental sound data read from the environmental sound data storage part.
