<p>Provided is a fluid pressure type brake system which includes an actuator for automatically regulating the brake fluid pressure of a vehicular wheel cylinder without the intervention of a vehicle operator. The system alleviates the feeling of rejection caused by a brake pedal or a brake lever when operated for a long time in a pressure-reduction mode or pressure-hold mode. Also provided is a method for providing brake control using the fluid pressure type brake system which includes the actuator that automatically regulates the brake fluid pressure of a vehicular wheel cylinder without the intervention of a vehicle operator. The method includes the following steps to be performed when the actuator of the fluid pressure type brake system operates automatically: (a) the step of detecting whether the wheel cylinder is being increased in pressure; (b) the step of calculating the period of time in which the wheel cylinder has not been increased in pressure; and (c) the step of increasing and decreasing the wheel cylinder in pressure, after the time period thus calculated has reached a predetermined time, so as not to affect the braking force of the vehicle.</p> |
