PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce time for downloading a module while monitoring alarm monitor information of the optical module.SOLUTION: A I2C communication device includes an I2C command transmission part 104 that transmits an expanded command to an optical module 110 with software data. The expanded command includes: a command for transferring the software data to the optical module 110; and a command for collecting alarm monitor information stored in a storage part of the optical module. In addition, the I2C communication device has an I2C command processing part 112 that, when the expanded command transmitted from the I2C command transmission part 104 is received, stores the software data transmitted together with the expanded command in a data storage part 114. The I2C command processing part 112 stores the software data in the data storage part 114 and reads out the alarm monitor information stored in the storage part, and transmits the read alarm monitor information to the I2C command transmission part 104. |
